What We Do
Your Eyes on the Project
An owner’s representative looks after the owner’s interests on a construction project. The architect designs it and the contractor builds it. We make sure the budget, the schedule and the quality are what you agreed to, and we tell you plainly when they are not.
We have been the owner on our own projects, from ground up medical office to large adaptive reuse. That is where we learned what to check, what to question and what a change order should really cost.

Common Questions
Owner’s Representation, Answered
-
What is an owner’s representative?
Someone with construction and development experience who works for the owner during a project, watching the budget, the schedule, the contracts and the quality of the work.
-
Do I need an owner’s rep if I have a good contractor?
A good contractor is the most important choice you will make, and an owner’s rep does not replace them. It gives you someone experienced checking budget, schedule and changes on your behalf.
-
When should an owner’s rep be hired?
As early as possible, ideally before design is finished and before the construction contract is signed. That is when the biggest cost decisions are made.
-
What kinds of projects do you represent owners on?
Commercial projects: office, medical office, flex and industrial, retail, renovations and adaptive reuse.
-
Where do you work?
Winchester, Frederick County and the northern Shenandoah Valley. We are licensed in Virginia and West Virginia.
